A practitioner's channel for Power BI, Fabric, and AI
The Data Practitioner is made by Michael McKinley, founder of McKinley Consulting in Nashville. The consultancy has spent more than a decade on the Microsoft data stack for companies from startups to Fortune 50 enterprises, and the channel is where the working patterns from that practice get written down and demonstrated.
The videos cover one thing well at a time: saving Power BI reports as code, putting them in GitHub, letting an agent such as Claude Code edit the model, and using Microsoft's official skills for Fabric. Every video gets a companion article here, with the chapters synced to the player, screenshots from the original recording, and files to download where the video used any.
Michael also builds pbiplint , a free best-practice linter for Power BI projects that runs in the browser, and runs the Nashville Power BI User Group.
